  • autumn

Trees are turning brilliant colors, the stove is on most of the time, the garden is done. It feels and looks like autumn. We bought 60 chicks 3 1/3 weeks ago.Friday we processed 12 of them into cornish hens. We plucked them and gutted of course. Iam glad I have small hands. It was hard to get my hand in there. They are 1 pound to 1 1/2 pounds. We put 3 in a gal. freezer bag. We are trying them to see if we want them for are catering. They are quite inexpensive to raise. It does take alot of time to process though.

We have lots of pumpkins. We sold a few. I need to cook up a few. They were in the barn overnight as the temp went below freezing. I forgot to bring the watermelons in, though. I don't think they will last very long since they froze a bit.

Abigail is dilligentley memorizing her lines for the upcoming play. She is enjoying every bit of it though. They have practice 3 days starting this week. Next week they changed it to2 days since the dirctors will be out of town for a few days. The play is Anne of Green Gables and Abigail is Anne. Let me know if you want tickets.

I am going to make fried apples to put over icecream, so I am going to sign off.

  • Anne of Green Gables coming soon

Auditions were Thursday evening. It was exciting like always. My sisters came up and we went out to eat at Tumbleweed. WE ate quickley and after a quick trip back home to pick something up for Abigail, we were on our way. There were 21 girls and 7 guys that auditioned that night. Most of them had call backs. Abigail was so fired up. She also got one. Friday afternoon we received the news that Abigail got Anne. We went out to cellebrate her success. Monday will be her practice. This has been her dream. Congratulations, Abigail!!!!!!

Anne of Green Gables will be performed at the Holland Theater November 21st and 22nd. Details will come later.

We had a garage sale yesterday and did quite well. We need to get alot done today so I am signing off.

    God bless you all,

  • cleaning mode

This past week Allen started moving furniture and cleaning the living room. The room looks bigger and very nice. I was working on the schoolroom. We are getting rid of 2 desks and the room is looking better.

We are still getting veg from the garden. The zuchini is getting out of hand :) We will miss it though when we don't have it any more. Allen has been digging potatoes. So far we got 160 pounds. That should last us awhile.

Seth will be 10 Monday, that means Levi will be turning 20 soon. Oh my, that means we are getting older. But not old, yet. :)

WE are having several families over for a Birthday party tomorrow for Seth. Ineed to get some lunch together and then get some work done.

  • Augest

Only a few short weeks and we will be starting school. We are on a jurney. We take a step of faith each day. We don't know what is ahead. It is both exciting and scary. Gabriel is going to Urbana University for his senior year. He is hoping to buy a car before he starts.Levi is going to Rosedale again this year. Allen is going to Bradford in Columbus to Culanary school (cooking).Abigail is doing several classes with Coop plus a few here at home. Seth will stay at home to do his 4th grade work.I am the only one not doing school, but that is ok. I can handle that.

We have lots of corn right now. We have been selling alot . We still have lots of beans, zucheeni, and cucumbers.

The exciting thing is that we have the weeds under control again in our garden. They were threatening to overtake us, but we held them off.Now we need to do combat with the flower gardens.

We went to the fair today. I went on some of the rides. It was lots of fun. I am waiting on Gabriel and Levi to come home. They stayed a while longer. I need to give them a call.

It is time to say goodnight, so Goodnight,
